So here I am. An Onekama rock glass with a bit of Iron Fish bourbon sitting in front of me. My Kane Brown playlist playing in the background. Oliver the cat trying to get my attention. My new, beautiful journal sitting beside me. Here I am.
I got on here the other day with the intention of closing this WordPress blog account. I mean, who has time to blog?! Who wants to hear what I have to say? How could anything I write in this blog help a single person?
But, here’s the thing. I have a lot to say. Now, I am not so completely naive to think that everyone wants to hear what I have to say. Seriously, I know that. But, maybe one person will take a little something from my meager ramblings, and dare I say it? Maybe, just maybe, I could help one person today.
Maybe I’ll make someone laugh. Maybe I’ll share a recipe that leads to a wonderful family dinner where the family actually sits and talks. Maybe my thoughts on a particular Milkshake hair product leads to someone having a better hair day, and let’s face it folks, that’s a big deal. Maybe I’ll say something about being a stepmom that resonates with another stepmom, and she is just plain relieved that there is someone else out there feeling the same way.
Basically, all of those ‘maybe-s’ makes me want to make time for this little journey. So, if you are reading this, keep your expectations low. You won’t find perfect grammar in this place. You won’t find perfect ideas, a clean house, or even someone who can tolerate gluten… you’ll just find truth, honesty, dreams, hardships, and some humor. Seriously, though. I’m pretty funny.
So, enter at your own risk, you never know what you’ll find. I can only guarantee that you won’t find Rachel Hollis, Jen Hatmaker, or Joanna Gaines. I can promise you that. It’ll just be me.
So to start off this gig, since we are getting into fall here in Central Illinois, here’s some of my autumn faves.
