Weightwatchers has been a huge part of my life for about a year and a half now.  It’s not something I’m shy about sharing, but it also doesn’t come up a lot in normal conversation.  So, there you go… I go to weightwatchers every.single.Saturday.  I have managed to lose thirty pounds… but more importantly gained three close friends that I can’t believe I lived without up until now, a little bit of self confidence, and a part time job.

In the spirit of full disclosure…

Because, life.

When I walked into weightwatchers for the umpteenth time in February of 2015, all I wanted to do was to lose weight.  I was unhappy with my appearance and overall health, but basically, I just wanted to wear smaller clothes.  My journey has definitely evolved since that first Saturday morning.

At first, of course, I did all the things I was supposed to do…  followed the plan closely and lost weight.  While I was happy with losing some weight, I just didn’t feel super committed and I was worried that I didn’t have the right mindset to keep it off.  There was no excitement or passion.

I can tell you exactly when that started to change.  I started to develop relationships.  It sounds simple, but to truly find other souls that you relate to, feel a connection with, and want to be around isn’t as simple as it sounds, right?  All of a sudden, I started looking forward to my meetings.  I felt their passion and determination.  I felt inspired to try new things… and new things don’t seem so daunting when you are doing them alongside friends.  I saw success right in front of my eyes, and in those moments, I knew I could have success as well.  We live our ups and downs together week after week.  Living healthy became a priority in my life, and it still is!

I’m just a girl who has had success with weightwatchers… but I’ve worked hard at it and I still work hard.  It’s not easy, folks.  BUT, it’s doable!  So, if you are even considering joining weightwatchers, I urge you to go for it.  If you are an online member, I urge you to go check out meetings…  see if you can find someone who you connect with!  You will see that everyone has struggles, but there are solutions and ways to cope with those struggles.  You will find a safe place to talk and listen.  You will find that little bit of ‘me time’ is so important to start your week off right.  You will find your tribe.

I will be sharing bits and pieces of how I’ve had success on the plan through this blog… and I will share my go-to recipes, snacks, and sweets (with pretty pictures of course).  I’m happy to share my fitness journey as well (also known as how to be a proud member of the #turtleclub)…  as it’s always changing and evolving.  If this post inspires even one person to want to learn a little more, that will make my day!

For you WWConnect peeps, I’m HeidiNicole10.

Stay tuned for more of this journey called life…
